Danisco Easypack in the Confectionery Market

Sonntag 13. Mai 2001 - For the first time ever, the confectionery market ist benefiting from consumer-friendly, easy-open and reclose bags using the patented Danisco EasyPack system.

Norwegian producer Brynild-Gruppen is the first confectionery producer in the world to choose Danisco EasyPack for its range of ten traditional varieties of sweets packed in handy pocket-sized 70g bags.

The Danisco EasyPack system is a practical, elegant solution to the convenience of easy opening and reclosure. The new Brynild packs have been developed in a three-way cooperation between Brynild, Danisco Flexible and Italian packing machinery supplier BG-Pack. The packing line including weighing and filling equipment is supplied by Cabinplant Int. of Denmark.

The easy-to-use Brynild packs make a good alternative to small boxes and zipper bags. They are hermetically sealed but once opened by the consumer the seal breaks easily revealing an adhesive strip under the flap, which is used to reclose the bag. The adhesive strip is applied during packing. The packs are made from an economically attractive laminate structure of coextruded OPP and LLDPE which enables the overlap seal to break away easily when pulled, thus making the packs suitable for children and elderly people alike. The packs also feature a clear window in the 5 to 8 color flexo printing allowing the consumer to see the product before purchase.

Today many other companies in Europe are using the patented Danisco EasyPack concept for the marketing of products in consumer-friendly packaging, which is both easy to open and reclose, in markets ranging from cheese, meat and dried fruit to pet foods and chemical products.

The Brynild Group is a family-owned company, which is over 100 years old. In addition to the production of boiled sweets, pastilles and lollipops they also produce chocolate following the acquisition of the Minde company.
