Fuji FINALPROOF Media To Be Released For Use On CreoScitex Spectrum Digital Halftone Proofing Systems

Mittwoch 28. Juni 2000 - CreoScitex is pleased to announce close cooperation with Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd. on the development of Fuji's FINALPROOF(tm) digital halftone proofing media for use with the CreoScitex Proofsetter Spectrum(tm) and Trendsetter Spectrum(tm) digital halftone proofing systems.

Samples of Spectrum-imaged FINALPROOF media was showcased as a technology demonstration at Drupa 2000.

FINALPROOF media is designed specifically to deliver contract-quality digital halftone proofs. It can be imaged at 2400 dpi to match the output resolution of the CreoScitex Spectrum devices. Using pigment-based CMYK tints, FINALPROOF media uses Fuji’s Thin Layer Thermal Transfer pigment technology to create the pigment-based CMYK process colors. This is the same technology used in Fuji’s Color-Art; a successful analog proofing product. Once completed, the FINALPROOF can be laminated onto the same paper stock that will be used on press.

„CreoScitex is happy to be cooperating with Fuji to make FINALPROOF a viable media option for Proofsetter Spectrum and Trendsetter Spectrum customers,“ says John Ward, Product Manager for the Spectrum systems at CreoScitex. „This announcement underscores our commitment to giving customers maximum flexibility and choice when building a digital halftone proofing solution to suit their particular needs.“

The Proofsetter Spectrum and Trendsetter Spectrum systems use patented CreoScitex squarespot(tm) thermal imaging technology to produce high-resolution digital halftone proofs with the best correlation to the press sheet available in the industry.

„We are very pleased to be working with CreoScitex to qualify our new FINALPROOF media on the Proofsetter Spectrum and Trendsetter Spectrum,“ says Don Schroeder, Product Development Manager, Color Proofing, Graphic Systems Division, Fuji Photo Film U.S.A. „This development addresses a common request we have had from many Fuji/CreoScitex customers and further demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the Graphic Arts Industry.“

The CreoScitex team works with over 15 vendors of thermal imaging media worldwide to evaluate offset plates, flexo plates, films, imposition proofing materials, and digital halftone proofing materials. In addition to Fuji FINALPROOF media, both Spectrum systems are capable of imaging Imation Matchprint(tm) Digital Halftone Proofs; DuPont Digital WaterProof(R); Kodak Approval Type 2 digital halftone proofing media; and Polaroid Dry Tech(tm) film. Trendsetter Spectrum customers have a choice of over 10 thermal plates that have been qualified.

There were five Spectrum systems operating at Drupa 2000.
